Youth Health & Fitness Summit

On August 18, 2007, in partnership with Kitoko Insurance Young Culinary Masters will be hosting the 16th annual Walter Silcott Paddleball Tournament & Youth Health & Fitness Summit at Paerdegat Park in Brooklyn. This event will reach out to youths and individuals throughout the 5-boroughs of New York City by providing them with a full day of activity. As summer is ending, we aim to take advantage of youngsters' free time by providing them this wonderful Youth Health & Fitness Day where they will be provided with fun, exciting and nutritious foods: prepared by other youths, all while enjoying a day of sports and activities including paddleball, jump rope, football, basketball, track, dancing and various other activities. Youth fitness experts will also be on hand to advise and demonstrate to youth and parents alike about basic skills and tips to maintaining good health.

Recipe for Success

On Saturday April 28, 2007 Young Culinary Masters Inc. hosted its first annual benefit gala at the Broad Street Ballroom, 41 Broad Street, New York, NY. Entitled "Recipe For Success", this inaugural event honored 6 individuals for their commitment to community service, youth empowerment and social justice. The evening's Hosts, Mr. James St. Furcy of Kitoko Insurance & Ms. Dominique Adam did a wonderful job of keeping everyone informed, engaged and entertained. Nearly 200 community activist, service providers, elected officials and business people were in attendance. Keynote speaker, Marlie Hall, Journalist & host of the Food Network's Recipe For Success program, shared her life experiences with the audience. Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, Called Young Culinary Masters, "Revolutionary and truly a gift to our young people and these times when obesity rates are of epidemic proportions."

"Our organization is excited about this new adventure we are embarking on and we want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has graciously helped us along the way," stated Executive Director and co-founder Nadege Fleurimond. She continues, "The individuals we honored have served as role models for our community and we wanted to celebrate their achievements, while also bringing attention to our mission. We had a room full of wonderful people: City Harvest, New York City Technical College of Hospitality, Culinary Institute of America, Brookdale Hospital, Former Councilmember Una Clarke, Councilmember Mathieu Eugene and many others. Young Culinary Masters is starting off on the right foot by forming many great alliances. We are excited. And the kids are excited, as was evidenced by the wonderful meal they prepared for us and served us. We are very optimistic."
